Location data will now enable you to view your position on the map in MaxiFleet, which has two major user benefits. First, it will be easier to mark out information on the map, and second, cooperation between machines from different manufacturers will be easier.
"Using, for example, a tablet, the operator can walk around and mark out places for which there is important information to share with colleagues, such as bark beetle infestations or windthrown trees. This makes it easier to prepare an area before felling or forwarding begins," says Jörgen Nilsson, Product Manager at Komatsu Forest.
Based on your position, you can also add symbols, make notes and select areas. All to strengthen cooperation when working the same harvesting area.
My position will also enable other brands of machine to access the information presented in MaxiFleet and MaxiVision. Being able to see other machines on the map as well as their tracks and production simplifies cooperation. For instance, another manufacturer's forwarder can follow a Komatsu harvester working in the same area.
The second new feature to be introduced concerns forwarder instructions and reduces the administration conducted in the machine as harvesting areas can be prepared at the office. The existing New area function has been expanded with forwarder deliveries and wood pile locations, enabling the forwarder instructions to be prepared and sent to the machine in advance, so that the operator can simply get into the machine and start working. The operator can choose the area from the list of available areas in MaxiFleet or MaxiXT. MaxiVision then shows the wood piles on the map as well as which deliveries have been unloaded at them together with their volumes/weights.
MaxiFleet is updated continuously and existing users automatically receive the latest functions.
